Southeast Asia has numerous destinations for retirement and tourism purposes, but I’m going to focus on the three that are most often considered by retirees – Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Note that other ASEAN countries have retirement VISA options as well, but these 5 (especially Philippines and Thailand) tend to be the most bang for the buck. With time I’ll add other countries I’ve been considering, with a complete breakdown of what qualifications you need for each country and VISA.
